1-Year Limited Craftsmanship Warranty

All Kappetijn Knives are backed by a 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal intended use. This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, or surface rust.

Essential Damascus & Carbon Steel Care

High-carbon and Damascus steels develop patina or corrosion if neglected. Never place a handmade knife in a dishwasher, leave the blade wet or soiled (e.g., blood or acidic foods), or store the blade long-term inside its leather sheath while damp. Wipe dry and apply a light coat of mineral or camellia oil after use.

Exclusions

Damage caused by moisture neglect or using the knife beyond its intended geometry—such as prying, batoning heavy knots, throwing, striking bone/metal surfaces, or improper power-grinding—is excluded. Normal wear and natural handle aging are also excluded.

Warranty Claims

Original proof of purchase is required, and the blade must be returned to Kappetijn Knives for workshop inspection. Coverage applies to the original purchaser.
